House Wayward is a Leather House committed to anti-oppressive community building, mutual aid, and personal growth. We're building something different - a space where people can develop authentic relationships, practice consent culture, and create positive change in our communities.
We exist to prepare people for their next steps, not to keep them forever. Growth sometimes means moving on, and that's success. We provide tools, skills, and community support that people carry with them into the broader world, creating ripple effects of anti-oppressive leadership wherever they go.
House Wayward stands against the gatekeeping, elitism, and white supremacy culture that can infiltrate Leather communities. Instead, we prioritize:
Daily anti-racist practice as ongoing work, not one-time education
Consent culture in all interactions, not just kink
Anti-carceral approaches to conflict and accountability
Accessibility and inclusion in everything we do
Mutual aid and community care over individualism
Our approach centers relationship building and organic learning over formal hierarchies. Most of our time together happens through meals, casual hangouts, and community events where we practice our values and learn from each other. We believe authentic anti-oppressive culture grows through connection and shared experience, not just workshops about it.
Whether you're exploring membership, curious about our approach, or looking for community resources, we've created detailed documents that explain who we are and how we operate.

We're small, intentional, and growing thoughtfully. Not everyone will be a fit, and that's okay - community is about finding where you can thrive and contribute authentically.
House Wayward is currently based in Portland, Oregon and welcomes inquiries from people at all experience levels who share our commitment to anti-oppressive community building.
